ABOUT

Marcus D. Mortlock has been involved in the Golf Industry since 1988. He was indentured as an “Apprentice Green keeper” at the renowned Robina Golf Club on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia. Marcus completed his 4 year apprenticeship with an overall grade of “Honors” and was in the final 3 candidates selected to be involved in an International Internship with one of the well known Golf Clubs of America.

Upon completing his apprenticeship in 1993, Marcus chose to take a year and travel. He went to Canada and worked for one season at Scarborough Golf and Country Club in Toronto. This course was formally the venue for many of the Canadian PGA Events. From there he went to the West Coast of Canada and was employed at one of Calgary’s Premier Ski Resorts. During this year off Marcus began to really appreciate the natural land forms of the Canadian Rockies.

Marcus was offered his first Superintendent’s position in Indonesia in early 1995. This project had 9 holes completed and the other 9 holes under construction. His interest for the Construction stemmed from there as he was often required to “fill the shoes” of the on-site Construction Manager.
